With favorable weather year-round, Houston boasts beautiful scenery throughout the city limits. #1: Main Street

“My favorite locations in downtown Houston are along Main Street,” says local wedding photographer Krystal. If you make your way to the top of Saks Garage on Fannin, you’ll experience stunning views of the city. It’s also near the train and other gorgeous buildings.”

Justin, a Houston-based wedding photographer, recommends checking out the McGovern Centennial Gardens. “I’m a huge plant nerd, and there’s no shortage of gardens here. It’s serene and peaceful, and the lush greenery makes it the perfect spot. Of course, the iconic cascading waterfall fountain is a huge point of interest, and an excellent mixture of nature and modern city feel.”

“One of our all-time favorite beautiful places in Houston is the Sabine Street Bridge,” says Reed, a senior photographer, and business coach. “It has one of the most picturesque views of the Downtown Houston skyline you can find. You can enjoy a nice walk along the bayou or stroll through the park nearby, all while enjoying the skyline in the background. It is a “must-visit” location in Houston.”

#5: Eleanor Tinsley Park

Eleanor Tinsley Park is known as being the hub of Houston’s events and festivals. This scenic park is a popular destination for locals all over the city. Enjoy the vast field with stunning views of Houston’s skyscrapers, or take a walk through the pathways that stretch through the park.

If you’re looking for beautiful scenery and art, the Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens is the place to be. Stretching within a 14-acre estate of Houston Philanthropist Ima Hogg, you’ll find early American decorative arts, like historic paintings, furniture, and porcelain. Take a tour of the beautiful grounds and be transported back in time.

“La Colombe d’Or Hotel is so modern and chic,” shares Krista, a local fashion, wedding, and engagement photographer. “I love it because it has a French-inspired feel, and it’s loaded with art. Seriously, even the hotel rooms are named after famous artists. From Monet’s room to Van Gogh, you can walk through the art gallery and sculpture garden before snapping a selfie on their romantic staircase. It is also located near the Houston Museum district, so you can browse our local museums and take in all our local eats in style.”

The Menil Collection holds about 19,000 paintings, sculptures, books, photographs, and drawings stretching on a 30-acre campus. You’ll be mesmerized by the artwork and architecture of the buildings, each offering its own unique design. “My absolute favorite location at Hermann Park is the wall next to the Mary Gibbs and Jesse H. Jones Reflection Pool,” says Ana, a nature photographer. “A wall that has become seasoned by the years and whose columns are draped with the leaves of the climbing vines that grow here. In the spring, the fragrant flowers fill the air and give a pop of color to the area. This view can make you feel like you are in distant lands with pillars and climbing vines.”

Mascha of Barberries Photography agrees. “There are so many picture-perfect areas throughout the park. Ponds, fountains, gorgeous flowers, Japanese gardens, century-old oak trees, sculptures, I could go on and on. If you are ever close to the Medical center or downtown or going to the zoo, I highly recommend walking the park.”

#11: Museum of Fine Arts

As one of the largest cultural institutions in the region, there’s a site for everyone to see at the Museum of Fine Arts. With over 70,000 objects from around the world, from antiquity to the present, you’ll get a taste of the world. You’ll find galleries, sculpture gardens, home museums, art schools, libraries, and more.
