This courthouse wedding in Houston was a DREAM! Mareena was such a vibe with her dress & shoes, and their love for one another was so evident. In this blog, I am going to share about Mareena & Francisco’s elopement (from the ceremony, family details, portrait time, and then their dinner celebration).
This beautiful elopement took place at the 1910 Harris County courthouse. It is oh so beautiful both indoors and out. In my past experiences as a Houston elopement photographer, you can choose to get married either inside or outside. Depending on the day, you might get married in a courtroom, or in the main hallway that you will see as you enter. The time for this ceremony is short and sweet, but still joyful. The judge was so kind and great at leading the message.
What I loved about this elopement was that they chose to still involve their family. Parents and siblings were able to witness and be a part of this special day. After some hugs and cheering, they hopped in some family photos to document this exciting time! I love that they had time to grab photos with their closest loved ones.
It was… a little warm on their elopement day, so we chose to stick around the courthouse. Luckily, downtown Houston is STUNNING practically every corner you go on. We just walked a bit around the courthouse to take some just married portraits. Francisco and Mareena were troopers in the heat, and pushed through with tons of giggles & joy from being fresh newly weds. You would never guess that it was 90 something degrees out would you?
After our time together, Francisco and Mareena were able to later go to a beautiful dinner reception with their closest family and friends to celebrate. I LOVE the idea of doing something intimate first with a small amount of people, and then celebrating a bit later with a few more of your loved ones. This idea gets my little introverted heart all excited. : ) It was such a joy to spend time these two and to be a witness to their love for one another. The giddiness they had after saying I do, the goofiness paired with tenderness towards one another was just perfect. Francisco, Mareena… you two are a perfect match. Thank you for choosing me to be your elopement photographer!
