If you are needing a little vacation from life, but don’t feel like making a trip to do so, then having a Houston staycation may be perfect for you! This blog is going to outline where you can stay, and then the different things that you can do during your staycation.
I am going to outline 4 different options for places that you can stay! These will be pretty centrally located in Houston!
This is a very popular option and such a BEAUTIFUL hotel! This space is gorgeous both inside and out. There are several options when it comes to finding the right room for you and your person. There are some amazing dining options, salon services, spa services, a pool, beautiful grounds to walk, and overall a place you can stay without having to leave in order to reset. Something else you can do to wrap up your trip is to book a couples photography session. I’ll never forget being able to take a couple’s romantic photos here under the giant oak tree.
There are two different locations for Hotel ZaZa in Houston, one in Memorial City and another in the Museum District. Similar to Houstonian, there is a lovely pool, dining experience, a spa, and salon services. There is also an all inclusive option to cover breakfast, parking, and drinks during your stay.
There are two locations in Houston, one downtown, and one near the Galleria. Have fun at the rooftop pool at the Galleria location! Both offer fitness sites and nice pools along with a stellar location to stay.
This hotel is another stunning and fun option! Amazing city views, a fitness area, pool time, and a dining experience helps make this hotel a highly desired place to stay.
If you want to do more than relax in your hotel, then I have some fun ideas for you to explore! The next section of this blog will outline different things you can do while on your staycation in Houston.
Something I have ALWAYS wanted to do, and hope to one day, is to see Houston form the eyes of a tourist! Ride an open top bus to hop on and off of while exploring parts of the city you may not have seen before.
Just outside of downtown, but centrally located, is The Color Factory. This is such a FUN, exhilarating experience! Be sure to get tickets in advance and takes lots of fun pictures with you and your significant other/family!
Of course one of the BEST things about Houston, Texas is hands down the diverse, amazing food that you can eat. I am going to list a few places that I loved because of the diversity, the experience, and the tastiness!
We love eating at Gloria’s which is a Latina restaurant. Be sure to make reservations or get there early, because on Saturday nights, they clear the tables for some salsa dancing to live music. IT IS A VIBE!
Another option to look at are some steak houses. The following steakhouses are near downtown, are highly rated, and will most definitely make you feel cared for and special. My favorite options are Potente, Vic and Anthony’s Steakhouse, Morton’s, and Theodore Rex. You just can’t go wrong with any of these!
Okay… I can’t stop writing about food because it is so dang good! The Post Houston is a gorgeous food hall with several diverse food options. You can then go on up to the rooftop to hear live music and to see the Houston skyline. There are several food halls downtown that have amazing food and aesthetics to enjoy. A few more favorites are Finn Hall, Underground Hall (weekday hours), and Bravery Chef Hall.
A walk in one of the most beautiful parks that Houston has to offer and then ending it with a live show on the lawn is what dream date nights are made of. Most shows after the sun sets and are on most evenings throughout the week!
Whether you want a session downtown, among the oak trees, or at one of Houston’s beautiful parks, this could be a special memory and date to have together!
