Date Night Ideas in Houston | Written by a Houston Photographer

Date Night Ideas in Houston

In this blog, I am going to highlight 5 of my favorite date night ideas! Most of these will include food, but also activities as well. I hope that these help you and your special person have a great evening out on the town!

1. Mexican Food + Miller Outdoor Theatre

My first favorite date night spot would be some Mexican food at Bodegas Taco Shop. This small, and vibrant shop is just outside of Hermann Park. The food and the workers are amazing! Once done eating there, a hangout at Hermann Park is definitely a good go to. We love walking around in general, but then love catching a free show at Miller Outdoor Theatre. We bring a drink and a blanket and chillax on the hill to watch many talented people perform for musicals or music shows.

2. Mediterranean Food + BYOB

Another idea would be a dinner in Montrose/Houston at Aladdin’s. First off, YUM. The mediterranean food is to die for. Second off, you can add some romance into your date night and bring a bottle of wine in with you to share. What a dream!

3. Buffalo Bayou Park

If you’re interested in an activity to do, my husband and I also love walking and hammocking at Buffalo Bayou Park. This park is just as gorgeous as Hermann Park and is such a sweet area to hang out at. We personally love walking near the beautiful oak trees, walking towards the skate park to watch some action, and then if we have enough energy (because these are farther apart), getting some laughs and puppy loving at the dog park.

4. The Post Houston

If you are wanting some awesome downtown Houston skyscraper views, you can definitely see them at Buffalo Bayou Park OR you could go visit The Post. First off, this place is built with the most incredible architecture! It was so beautiful and appealing to the eye. Once you go in, you walk into a GIANT, fancy (compared to the mall), food court. From Asian food, to Latina, to seafood, to smoothies, you name it. The Post has very diverse businesses that offer amazing food. If you head upstairs, there is normally music, drinks, and of course beautiful views of downtown Houston.

5. Photo Shoot

Surprise your girl with a surprise photo shoot. Hidden just outside of Hermann Park, this area with these stunning trees is such a beautiful place to take photos with your person. A lot of times women want photos with their men, but it can seem daunting to the guy. What better way to get your girl all excited and to feel beautiful and loved than to take some time to document your love for one another? And at that, it be YOUR idea. ; )

Thank you!
